Week 7 - Midterm review

On receiving Professor’s feedback after mid-term, we came up with ideas to engage kids in games (ex: arcade games)


Scene description:


1. Basketball Court


The kid will be playing Basketball by shooting the ball from different distances and angles.

With each level, the basket's position will be changed in terms of distance or orientation. The kid has to look at the basket and try to shoot the ball perfectly to score points.

Inhale - Get the ball from the nearby stand.

Hold - Aim at the basket.

Exhale - Shoot the ball.

The game becomes interesting as a lower/higher value of inhaling and exhaling will decide whether the ball gets in the basket. Hence, the kid has to breath correctly to make the basket.


2. Fill the cup with balls (using a straw)

The objective is to fill the glass with Polystyrene balls (styrofoam / thermocol) so that the water comes up for the nearby sitting dog to drink.

The glass illuminates with a colored light indicating that it needs a ball of that color.

The kid has to gaze towards the pile of balls - Pick up - Gaze towards the glass - Drop it in the glass.

By putting balls in the glass, the water level in the glass rises. Once the glass is filled, the water reaches the top and the nearby dog is able to drink the water.

Inhale - From a pile of different colored balls, pick ball of the desired color.

Hold - Hold and move the camera (gaze) towards the glass to be filled.

Exhale - Put the ball in the glass.



3. Protect the Village from Fire monsters

Fire monsters trying to destroy the village by burning it. The kid is given a water gun that has to be filled and then water has to be sprayed on the monsters to kill them.

It will be a first-person game. The head moment will define the target.

Inhale - draw water in. Depending on how deep is the inhalation the amount of water is filled in the water gun.

Hold the breath - Will keep the water inside the gun.

Exhale - Spray water. Depending on the exhalation value amount of water will be sprayed.


4. Complete the puzzle

The kid has to complete a wall-hanging picture by placing objects of different shapes.

The kid will pick up the desired-shaped object - look at the missing shape in the picture - Place it there.

Inhale - Brings the desired object close.

Hold - Time taken to gaze towards the missing piece in the picture.

Exhale - Place the object.
